This ones not a moan

Today it has been announced that Rubens Barrichello will drive for Williams next year along side GP2 Champion Nico Hulkenberg. This is what many would regard as an excellent type of line up. Experience and Youth combined and lets face it you don't get more experienced than Rubens. However there is some history here. It was in a Williams car that the legendary Ayrton Senna, mentor to Rubens at the time, died at Imola. This may be one of the reasons Rubens wishes to drive for them next year, who knows. Let's hope that Williams can produce a good, if not great, car for this pair to drive next year as it would inevitably gain them some points as these two are both exceptional drivers.
Hopefully in the next few days we will see many more drivers signed up to teams however these are my prediction(and those that have been confirmed):

Jenson Button
Nico Rosberg
Red Bull:
Sebastien Vettel
Mark Webber

Also today it has been announced that David Beckham will join AC Milan on loan in January, surprise surprise. This should lead to Fabio Capello keeping him in the England squad for the 2010 World Cup. This is a good thing as he is still far better than any of these youngsters who still only have potential. Theo Walcott, Aaron Lennon and Shaun Wright-Phillips all have pace yes but the balls they deliver in to the box can often still leave something to desire. This is Beckham's speciality, hitting the man in the box every time.

Only other sporting news today is little Kai Wayne Rooney, what a name. I like the fact that bookmakers are already taking bets on whether the Rooney's son will play for England, United or any other team, he was only born today. Anyway congratulations to the Rooneys, hope they enjoy the delights of having a child.

  1. Kai Wayne Rooney could well be the chavviest name ever in history....
Looking at those driver lineups I can't see any of the new teams making that much of an impression. Shame really because I'd quite like to see Senna Jr and Andretti Jr do well

  2. I agree, it would be nice to see those names do well but hopefully they'll out perform their cars and move to a better team in a couple of years.
